Activities and Events

The Casa Herrera hosts a number of varied educational and scholarly activities and events throughout the year, including conferences, symposia, classes, academic workshops, and public lectures. Occasional events including open houses, performances, and art exhibitions will also contribute to the overall cultural mission of the Casa Herrera.

In the first months of operation in 2009 the Casa Herrera hosted a mini-conference on the Future of Mayan Linguistic Research, as well a several residential scholars. In 2010 the Casa Herrera will be the venue for the prestigious Maya Meetings, long held at UT-Austin but now planned to alternate each year between there and Antigua.
